Ruchi & Dhruv

Teenagers to Lovers to Now a happily married couple…

Weddings are often seen as overwhelming, filled with traditions and societal expectations. But for Ruchi and Dhruv, their wedding day was nothing but pure joy—especially because it marked their 12th anniversary together. The couple, introduced by Ruchi’s sister as teenagers, has grown up side by side, evolving from young love to a deep bond that spans more than a decade.

“We’ve seen each other through everything, from our teenage years into adulthood. We know each other inside and out,” Ruchi says with a smile.

From the beginning, Ruchi and Dhruv carved their own path, rejecting the traditions that didn’t fit their relationship. One of the boldest decisions they made was about their living arrangement after marriage. Rather than following the conventional norm where the bride leaves her home to live with the groom’s family, Ruchi and Dhruv agreed early on that they would spend equal time with both sets of parents.

Dhruv made a lasting impression when he arrived at Ruchi’s house one day with half of his clothes in hand. “He did it to affirm my parents about our 50-50 living situation,” Ruchi recalls fondly.

“We’re just great buddies,” Dhruv adds, laughing. “That’s what makes it all so easy.”

As they walked down the aisle, hand in hand, they radiated joy and excitement.
