We have always maintained that a wedding is all about the Bride. She “always” gets the maximum attention – right from the outfits to makeup to jewellery to footwear to etc etc…
Now that we have shot so many weddings across cultures and cities, we have been wanting to understand how the brides are captured during their wedding…
The most common thing is – They all look stunning and gorgeous.. Their sheer presence in the wedding illuminates the entire place 🙂
To start with this study, the obvious choice was Maharashtrian Brides from Mumbai..
For obvious reasons… We are Maharashtrian Photographers from Mumbai.. And we “think” we know our culture well.
A few “Must haves” that we see during Maharashtrian Weddings:
1. The “Mundavla” – The bride looks the adorable best when she has the Mundavla tied on her forehead. The Groom has it too but we won’t comment much on that here.
2. The “Yellow” Saree. This is the Saree that is gifted by her Mama (Mom’s brother) and she is seen sporting it during the wedding rituals.
3. Nath and Nauvari are a few more aspects that are different about Maharashtrian Brides..
We will leave it at that. We would want the pictures to do most of the talking.. So, here you go 🙂
